We made it to the last day of school. And both kids are moving on! Elliott will be in 3rd grade next year, and Emma will be in 6th grade. It was a battle some weeks, and there were a lot of tears, but we made it!
We also made it through my birthday, Nurses' week, and Mother's Day. It's been a little crazy around here. And I've totally been on Vacation brain, so I didn't really take any pictures of any of it. And I think I was trying to save some storage on my phone for Hawaii.
For my birthday, John and the kids got me a gift card to Olive Garden, a Stanley Water bottle, and some dark chocolate. They did a good job. We also spent the week playing/watching softball, and threw in some soccer as well. Both kids are really enjoying their spring sports, so that's fun to see.
On Mother's Day, we went to church, I taught Sunday School, and then we headed out to the greenhouse for the rest of the day. They were open for a couple hours in the afternoon, so we helped with that, and then we potted all of our outdoor plants. We are leaving at the farm for now, since we are going to be gone for a couple of weeks. Then, we had some chislic for supper with everyone, and we called it a day.
This past week has gone a little slower. Emma had softball on Monday night, while I was playing softball on Monday night. It was the most gorgeous evening to be outside and enjoying the day. Elliott had soccer practice on Tuesday, but after that we didn't have any other sports the rest of the week. On Thursday, we had Ascension Service and also graduation at the school. It's so hard to believe that will be Emma in 3 years.
I ended up with yesterday off, and I packed and ran some final errands. And then packed some more. I also caught up with the laundry and cleaned the house. We leave for Hawaii tomorrow! That is so crazy. We've been talking/planning this trip forever, and now it's finally here.
Today, Elliott has a soccer game at 1:00pm, and then we are heading to Minnesota to see my parents and then leave from there tomorrow so we are closer to the airport. We are flying out of Minneapolis. We have a 4 hour flight to LA, and then a 5 hour flight to Hawaii. It's going to be a long day of traveling, but it's going to be so worth it. We are all super excited, and can't wait!!
On the next blog post, I will have so much information and so many pictures to share. Can't wait!
