Somehow I allowed time to get away from me again. However, not a whole lot is new in the Nelson Home.
The new job is going well. I have only worked 3 weeks at it, so I am still figuring out some things and getting used to the new hours. It is nice having a more regular schedule though. My new co-workers are very nice and I am learning a lot on the the job. So, all in all it is going well.
Last weekend my parents came to visit. We spent time shopping and just hanging out. My parents bought an IPad while they were in town, and they became pretty addicted to it over the weekend. We also ate at Carnaval Saturday evening, which is a Brazilian Restaurant. They bring meat selections right to your table, and if your ready for more you turn your token to green, and if you need to rest for a while you put your token to red. They also had this awesome pineapple that they bake and then put cinnamon and sugar on. It was a fun experience and they food was really good!
I am now 17 weeks pregnant! I am finally just starting to show, but still able to wear my regular clothes thus far. I am feeling great, no dizziness or anything crazy with my pseudo-tumor. At the end of February I have my ultrasound and can find out what we are having, so that is really exciting! I can't wait to start buying things once we know the sex of the baby. I am almost halfway there!!
Not a whole lot else is new, just looking forward to spring and warmer weather!

New Year, New Job!
Happy 2012 Everyone! I know I am about 10 days late on this, but I just don't know where the time has been going lately. So far it has been a good year!
First of all, I am 15 weeks pregnant right now, and it is going really well! All the medical stuff that was going on with me earlier (the pseudo tumor) has finally settled down and I have been feeling great! Last week I had an ultrasound done just to make sure everything looked good, and it was amazing to see my baby in such amazing detail. I could even see his/her fingers!!! It definitely made things more real for me.
The other big news right now is that I started my new job. I am now working in the Recovery Room, which is where patients go as soon as they wake up after surgery. We get all kinds of surgeries and all ages of patients, so it's nice to have a variety and a challenge. My schedule is completely different than it used to be. I used to work 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts, and now I am working 8 hours shifts 5 days a week, so it is really different for me, but I am liking it.
Right now I am orientating on the unit, so I am in the process of learning how everything works in the recovery room. It's still early, but I can tell I am going to like it. I am surprised at how much I already miss Orthopedics, but I think some of it was that I was so comfortable on Ortho.
Those are the major things that are new in the last couple weeks. John and I are very excited about Baby Nelson's arrival in July, and we are preparing by starting to shop around for baby items at all the different stores in town. I am still fitting into all of my clothes as of right now, but I am sure maternity clothes are right around the corner!
Thanks for reading!
