Happy Easter!

Easter is here! The sun is shining, it is a glorious morning, and we have many things to be thankful for. We are especially grateful for Jesus being victorious over death to save us all from our sins!

So, we had a pretty busy weekend over here. Yesterday was John's 30th Birthday, and we spent it together as a family of 4 and had a good day. We didn't do any crazy celebrating or have a party or anything, but John said he just wanted a day with the family.

In the morning, Emma and I braved the breezy, cloudy, 37 degree day and did and Easter Egg Hunt in town. There were a ton of kids there, so we only got 3 eggs, but Emma had fun and we got a picture with the Easter Bunny. In the afternoon, we all went to the Kirby Science Center and let the kids play and burn off energy. Then, it ended up snowing and getting kinda yucky out, so we headed home for the day.

It ended up snowing about 5 inches, which wasn't really something we wanted at the end of March. The kids went to bed pretty early from all the activity, so John and I finished the night with some wine and Game of Thrones. All in all, a pretty good birthday celebration.

This morning started with some Easter Basket celebration. Both kids really enjoyed digging into their baskets and getting some new toys. Most of what the "Easter Bunny" got them was summer and outdoor toys, so there wasn't much they could actually play with today, but they didn't seem to mind.

We went to church this morning, and it was a battle. Elliott was tired, and restless, and crabby, and church was an hour and a half, so it was not the most fun service ever. But we survived, and I always enjoy Easter Sunday. Right now everyone is napping, and then we are going to head out to Jim and Barbs to celebrate Easter with John's side. The sun is shining, and trying to melt the 5 inches of snow we are currently buried in. I look forward to some Easter Celebrating in a couple hours!

Happy Easter Everyone! He is risen, He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!!!!

Good Friday

This week is just ticking along. We had a nice snow storm on Wednesday, which dumped about 5 inches of snow and ice on us. That was fun. I had Wednesday off, and stayed cooped up in the house with the kids all day long, which got to be a little bit long by the end of the day. Elliott stood and screamed by the door about 5 times wanting to go outside and play. We are all very ready for spring and some nicer days.

Today ended up being a nice day off from work, and I am enjoying just relaxing at home and having some "me" time. I caught up on some sleep, a little TV, and now I am working on tidying up on the house.

John turns 30 tomorrow. What? How did that happen? Time just keeps marching on. I'm not sure what we are going to do tomorrow, but it should be a nice day spent with family (and  maybe we can escape for dinner and a movie or something)

And Easter is on Sunday already. I find that really hard to believe. We plan to go to church, and then we are heading out to Jim and Barb's to celebrate and hang out. Next weekend are are heading to Mankato to celebrate Easter with me side of the family. I can't wait for Easter Egg Hunts, Easter Baskets, and lots of family time.

March Madness

March Madness is in full swing, and the Women's Jackrabbit Team actually made it through to the second round, and plays again tonight. Woo-hoo! But to tell you the truth, it kind of feels like March Madness around here.

March has been flying by, and we are already getting towards the end of it. Yikes! A couple weekends ago, we made a trip to Minnesota. I had a bridal shower and bachelorette party to go to, and it was a beautiful weekend and the kids really enjoyed playing on the farm.

For Holly's Bachelorette Party, we took a party bus to the cities, ate some food, and then stopped at a few bars along the way back home. It was a pretty fun time, but it got to be a long day of being inside a vehicle. Ugh. It was a nice trip home to see family and friends, but it was very busy, and we were all pretty tired by the end of it.

The past week consisted of beautiful spring evenings in the backyard, grilling out, and a lot of family time. I worked this past weekend, so I spent a lot of time at the hospital, and John had his hands full with some rowdy kids at home.

Today has been a nice catch up day at home. I am binge-watching some House of Cards, cleaning the house top to bottom, catching up on some scrapbooking, and heading out to do some grocery shopping soon. It's been a pretty productive day. We plan on doing some grilling, and playing with the kids in the yard tonight, while the weather is still nice.

On the agenda for the week: putting together Easter baskets for the kids, easter egg hunts, John's 30th Birthday, celebrating Easter, and hopefully enjoying some nice spring weather. Should be a busy week!

A Beautiful March...So Far

Once again, time has flown away from me, and I am a few weeks behind on my blog. A lot has happened since my last post.

Emma finished her dance class, and they had a little dance recital at the very end that they had been practicing. It was pretty darn cute. Emma loved the class, and I think we will definitely do it again when the time comes.

We have been battling some sinus stuff in our house lately. John has had a really sore throat, cough, and just been feeling pretty yucky for the last week or so. Elliott has had a snotty nose and cough for forever, or at least it feels that way. And now Emma had to be taken home from daycare yesterday, with a high temp, but she seems fine now. So, we are all ready to start to feel a little healthier.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous lately. It has been sunny, and in the 50s and 60s pretty consistently. So, we have been spending as much time outside as possible. We have been playing out in the yard, and even made a couple trips to the park. The kids love it, and we all love the opportunity to get out of the house.

Today has been a pretty fun day. I took the kids to the Museum of Visual Materials this morning for their St. Patrick's Day Party. They had craft tables, blocks to play with, barbies, legos, books, and all kinds of things for the kids to do. They really enjoyed running around and playing with all the other kids. And they burned off a lot of energy, which is always a good thing.

After the museum, we went across the street to visit John at work. We hadn't been by to visit John in his office for quite some time, so it was nice to bring the kids by to say hi. We only stayed for a few minutes, and then we headed downtown to the diner to have lunch. It was a nice lunch date, but the kids were starting to get crabby, so we kept it short and sweet.

Right now both kids are napping (yay!!!) and I am relaxing a little. This afternoon we plan to go to a park, and spend a little more time outside. And then this weekend we are heading to Minnesota to see the grandparents and I have a friend's bachelorette party to go to. It should be a pretty fun weekend.
