My Birthday, Nurse's Week, and Mother's Day.

This last week was a big one for me around here. Last Saturday was my birthday. I had a great day, and it was an absolutely gorgeous day, which was a really nice treat since we haven't had too many really nice days this spring.

We started out the day with a nice breakfast where Elliott sang me Happy Birthday, and then we went and picked Emma up from a friend's house after a birthday party. Emma had a track meet the day before, and got first place in the softball throw, 3rd place in the obstacle course, and fifth place in the partner racing. She was so proud of her ribbons and had a great day.

Emma had a soccer game in the afternoon, and she scored her ver first goal!! She was so happy! I think the team lost, but she was so happy after the game.

For supper I met some friends at the 18th Amendment, and then went out on the town with some friends. It was a really fun night, but I forgot how many drinks people buy you when you it's your birthday. I had plenty to drink. I got home at around 2:30 am, and then struggled really hard the next day. I was super hung over. I definitely remembered why I don't drink like that anymore. Here's to 32!

Softball started on Monday night. We had a double header on a cold, windy, rainy day. It was pretty miserable, We did win both games, and I was really happy to be able to go home, take a hot shower, and climb into a warm bed. I hope the rest of our games are a little warmer.

The rest of the week flew by with work and some kind of activity going on every night. On Friday night, we went to go to the Stampede game. They are in the Clark Cup finals right now, and they won their game 3-2. It's pretty fun to watch playoff hockey, and we all enjoyed the game. It made for a late night though, and we all had to get up early the next day for the Avera Race against Cancer.

I signed the entire family up for the Avera race. John signed up for the 5K and the kids and I did the family fun walk. It was really fun, but there were so many people there. There were almost 6000 people signed up to participate in the race. It was fun to be a part of such a large crowd supporting the same thing. The kids didn't really understand it, but they enjoyed themselves. We ran into some people that we knew, and then we got the heck out of there.

After the race, we went out to the greenhouse for the rest of the day. Katie was out there helping Barb for the weekend, so we all enjoyed visiting and then making some planters. It turned into a cold, rainy day, but we made the most of it. We brought some lunch out, and then we had shrimp scampi for supper. It was a pretty good day.

Today is Mother's Day! We spent the morning in church, and then made a typical Sam's club trip. Emma really wanted to go swimming at the Midco, so her and I headed there while the boys went back to the greenhouse. After we swam for a couple hours, I took Emma to How to Train Your Dragon 3 at the cheap theatre, and she loved it. We had a nice little mom and Emma afternoon and it was great. The boys enjoyed their time at the farm.

Now everyone is finally relaxing for the day. The Stampede are tied in overtime right now, and the kids are on their way to bed in the next 5 minutes or so. I feel very blessed and loved on this Mother's Day.
