Emma's 7th Birthday Party.

Whew, June is flying by and we are trying to catch our breath over here. We have been busy, but we have been having fun. Elliott had swimming lessons the past couple weeks that have kept us running, as well as softball games that go late into the night. Oh, sweet summertime.

Two weekends ago, we celebrated Emma's birthday with her friends. We pulled Jim and Barb's camper to Yogi Bear Campground, and camped with Emma and 5 of her friends. I think I was feeling a little crazy. Overall, it went really well, and Emma had a blast, but it was a little tiring having all those girls to keep track of.

On Friday evening, we had the parents drop off their kids as we were busy trying to set up the camper and get everything organized. All the kids were there at around 4pm, and they were all desperate to go swimming, so we headed to the pool. They have a really nice heated pool, and the girls had a blast swimming in it. Elliott also joined in the fun for the evening, and had a blast swimming and hanging out with the girls.

After a long swim, we roasted hot dogs over the fire for supper and then the girls bounced on the bouncy pillow and played some mini golf. Elliott went home with Grandma and Grandpa for the night, and John left a little later for the night, so it was just me and the girls. We put a movie on around 9pm, and the girls giggled and played around until after midnight. Finally, they went to sleep.

The next morning, the girls were awake at 6 am (yikes) and were ready to go. We ate breakfast, and then they were ready to swim at 7:30 am, so I took them to the pool again. I let them swim, while I read a book and relaxed. After about 3 hours in the pool, we took a break and did a campground craft, played on the playgrounds, and then played some more mini golf. We grilled some pizzas over the fire for lunch, Emma opened her gifts and we ate some birthday cake, and then it was time to take the girls home. Emma had so much fun with her friends for her birthday, but she was one tired little birthday girl, and I was more than ready to take all those extra girls home.

In the evening, Jim and Barb brought Elliott back to the campground, and we all got to hang out for the evening. We did some more swimming, and then there was a dance in the campground with a DJ, which the kids really enjoyed. We enjoyed the dance until the rain came, and then it was time to settle down in the camper and get ready for bed.

Everyone slept well Saturday night, and then it was time to pack up and pull the camper out the next morning. We all had a great camping weekend at Yogi Bear, they have such great activities for the kids and a very nice campground. Emma was all smiles all weekend and had a great, great birthday party weekend.
