We continue to just be as busy as possible. This past weekend, we overdid it a little. We started Saturday off by going to the Great Plains Zoo. It was Midco Discount Day, so we got in for a little cheaper. It was a really nice visit. We didn't go to the zoo at all last year, so it was nice to see some of the changes. They have a new bear exhibit, so it was really cool to see that. It was a beautiful day to walk around at the zoo.
After a couple hours, we headed to Emma's last soccer game. She really enjoyed soccer, and she has improved a lot since her first game. She still needs some practice and motivation, but overall she does a nice job at soccer. She scored another goal at her last game, and she was so happy!! It was a great way to end the season. We may end up playing some fall soccer later this year.
Next we went to the Washington Pavillion which was celebrating 20 years. So, they had bouncy houses, live entertainment, and some tents with activities to do. And best of all, everything was free. Needless to say, the kids had a lot of fun, and were pretty tired by the time we left.
So, we left, and headed to Johnny and Kristina's house for a summer BBQ. We ate really good food, while the kids played, jumped on the trampoline, and just generally had a lot of fun. It was nice to hang out and enjoy the beautiful day. We left around 9pm, and had two very tired kids to put to bed once we got home.
On Sunday, we had a potluck and farewell to Jensens' and a welcome to our new vicar. It was a nice little program, but Patsy, Jen and I had to put it all together, so it was sort of a relief when it was over. We didn't leave church until 1pm, and then we ran some errands, and headed to Jim and Barb's for supper and to hang out. Once again, we didn't get home until late and had super tired kids (and parents). We weren't home hardly at all the whole weekend!!
This week hasn't really gotten any better. Monday night, I had three softball games to play while John took Elliott to swimming lessons and we tried to find some time for work, laundry, and general house duties in there as well.
Yesterday, I took the kids to the Midco so Elliott could go to lessons and Emma could do some swimming. They had a lot of fun, and it was a gorgeous day to be outside and let the kids enjoy the splash park.
It's fun to be outside doing things, but it makes for short evenings, tired kids, and long days at work sometimes. It's definitely summer time!! And this weekend is Emma's birthday party at Yogi Bear Campground, she is so excited!
