Happy Golden Birthday!

So, I am a day late, but yesterday was my husband, John's 26th Birthday. Not only was it his birthday, but it was his Golden Birthday.

Unfortunately, his birthday fell on a Monday and John had to work. So, I took him out for lunch and got him a few odds and ends things for him to open for his present. He really wants a nice weight set for his main present so, we will go shopping later this week.

We also went grocery shopping and then made fajitas at home. They were really good :)

It probably wasn't a super exciting birthday for him, since we didn't do anything too crazy. But we spent his birthday together, and it has to be better than last year when I crashed my car on his birthday. That sucked.

Anyways, Happy Golden Birthday (yesterday) to the man I love :)

St. Patty's Day Weekend

Hello everyone. What a beautiful week we have just had! Nothing can beat 70 and 80 degree weather in March. John and I have been spending a lot of time outside enjoying this lovely weather. This next week is supposed to be back down in the 60s, but I suppose we can deal with that.

Samantha, one of my best friends from high school, came and visited this last weekend. We spent Friday night just hanging out and catching up at my house.

Saturday, St. Patrick's Day, was a gorgeous day! We ate lunch at Hu Hot, and then did some shopping in the mall. We also hit up some other stores and then decided to go downtown. There was a St. Patrick's Day parade going on downtown, and there were a TON of people downtown. It was actually pretty hot standing downtown watching the parade, so we stopped at Cherry Berry afterwards for some frozen yogurt.

In the evening we grilled out for supper and then sat on the patio visiting for the rest of the evening. Sam then headed home as she had family plans on Sunday.

Today, we are again enjoying some lovely weather and just basically having a Sunday. Hope everyone has a great week!

Our Nursery :)

Today was a really nice day! First of all, it was about 67 degrees and sunny. It was a little breezy, but heck I handle that when it decided to be so nice out.

We picked up our crib from Sears yesterday, and John put it together!

John and I decided to do some shopping today. We shopped at a couple furniture stores for a couch and love seat for our upstairs living room. We were basically just window shopping, getting ideas for when we are ready to make a purchase.

We also stopped at Babies-R-Us ( I am really loving this store) and bought our nursery decorations. I have known for some time that I wanted to do Winnie-the-Pooh for the theme, because if anyone knows me well, I liked Eeyore when I was little, and I still have some of my Eeyore items. So anyway, prepare yourself for a ton of nursery pictures! I also couldn't help buying a couple new onsies.

Can you tell we are excited at all? Unfortunately I promised John I was done buying things now, and that we would register for the rest later. But, I can still window shop :)

Beautiful Day :)

I would take this weather in March any day. 64 degrees, sunny, and not a wind storm. The only down side is that it is hard to go to work on a day like today. Oh-well, can't do much but enjoy it while it lasts, because tomorrow is back in the 30s. Only in the midwest...

Get out and enjoy the sunshine today :)

Baby Girl!

That's right we are having a little baby girl! We are really excited! It is nice to be able to call our baby a "she" instead of an "it". Also, it makes shopping easier, and it's just nice to know what we are having.

It's hard to tell in the pictures, but I made celebratory pink cream filled chocolate cupcakes. I have never made cream-filled cupcakes before, and they are sort of a mess, but they sure tasted good.

Hooray for our baby girl :) Now we just have to wait another 17 weeks to meet her!

22 Weeks!

So, I am now 22 weeks prego! I have a long ways to go yet, but it's hard to believe I am already this far along! I haven't been feeling much as far as baby movements, but they said that my placenta may be anterior which could be buffering the movements. And they all told me to enjoy not feeling the movements yet, as they can keep you awake at night!

Here I am at 22 weeks in my Old Navy maternity wear ( I have nothing but good things to say about Old Navy's selection and quality of their clothes. If you have maternity clothes to buy, try Old Navy!)

As you can see, I continue to grow :)

Today we told John's parents what we are having! They are really excited (we all are!). We also went shopping today and bought a crib and dresser for our nursery! We bought the furniture at Sears. They didn't have the crib in stock, so they have to ship it and we will get it in a week or so (shucks). But they did have the dresser and John spent the afternoon assembling it and we really like it!

It's so fun to finally be putting our nursery together! My parents fly into Sioux Falls tomorrow, so I will be able to officially announce Baby Nelson's gender soon!
