Disney Jr Live and Minnesota Visitors :)

About a month ago, Jim and Barb bought tickets for a Disney Jr Live show at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. The plan was for them to take Emma, but Barb's dad, Percy, has been having some medical problems lately, so she didn't feel like she could leave the hospital and go to the show. So, Jim, Emma, and I made the trip.

It was a pretty fun show. We watched Sophia the First, and Jake the Pirate, and Minnie and Mickey made an appearance as well, so Emma was loving that. She did really well throughout the entire show, and it kept her attention for most of the two hours, which is saying a lot for a 2 year old.

I also bought her a spinning, light up toy that she had a blast playing with throughout the entire show. She was maybe a little bit too young to fully understand everything that was happening, but boy did she have a good time :)

Grandpa and Emma

My parents and brother came to visit this weekend. With a busy harvest, and our inability to travel very far right now, it had been quite a while since we had seen my family. So, they were pretty excited to see Emma.

Saturday was a nice lazy day at home for the first part of the day. Emma and Grandpa Jack read book. Emma and Grandma Patty baked some cookies. Ryan had fun tickling and chasing Emma around. We ate a big breakfast of pancakes and bacon, and just visited and caught up with each other. We also took advantage of all the extra help, and we put up our Christmas decorations.

We eventually ventured out and did a little shopping and ate out at Ruby Tuesdays for supper. After that, we drove through Falls Park and enjoyed all the Christmas lights.  Emma really enjoyed this and kept saying "pretty lights".

Today, we ate a brunch at Hy-Vee, went to church, and then did a little shopping and found some night stands for our bedroom as our Christmas presents from my mom and dad. I think we are going to really like them. After a little more visiting, it was time for them to head home. John did get his camera out right before they left, and we got some good shots Emma with my family.

The weekend went by in a flash, but everyone had a really good time. Emma loved all the attention, and my family loved being able to see her and spend some time with her. My parents were really hoping I would have baby #2 while they were here, but alas, no such luck. I'm still pregnant, with no immediate end in sight. Sigh.

Right now, Emma is napping away, and I am enjoying some quiet time after all the company. And I am hoping I have some big news to share later this week :)

Happy Thanksgiving Week Everyone :)

38 Weeks and The First Snow of the Year

Well, here I am. Still pregnant at 38 weeks, and SO ready to have this baby. I already had Emma by this point with my last pregnancy, so I feel like I am past due, even though I'm not. Overall, I am feeling just fine, still working full-time, and both me and the baby are doing just fine. I am just getting very impatient.

I really haven't had any signs or symptoms of labor yet, and my OB did not check my cervix at my last appointment, but as far as I can tell, it will probably be a little while until this little munchkin makes an appearance. We finally got our nursery ready, I have my bags packed, and I have a couple of cute little sleepers I can't wait to put on baby boy or girl when he/she arrives. So really, we are just waiting on baby to make an appearance. Hopefully soon!

Last weekend, Rachel came to visit which Emma absolutely loved. It also snowed 6 inches on Saturday, so we had fun bundling Emma and taking her for her first sled ride of the year. Emma didn't really remember snow from last year, so she really got a kick out of it and enjoyed playing in it.

Sledding!!!

It was nice to see Rachel, it had been a while since she was here for a visit. We ate out, did some shopping, and then just spent some time hanging out and catching up. It was a fun weekend, and Emma was bummed to see Rachel leave by the end of it.

Emma has been doing very well lately. Potty training is getting back on track, with a few accidents here and there. She is inquiring about the baby more, I think she is getting excited to meet the little baby too! Or else she just wants a mommy who can sit on the floor and play with her and who has a lap to sit on again-it's one of the two.

She also has been very into singing lately. She loves to sing, especially songs from Frozen. Also, she loves watching Frozen and Mickey Mouse. I just bought some Frozen merchandise from Kohls for Emma for Christmas, and I cant wait until she opens it. She is going to freak out :)

At daycare a couple weeks ago, they took class and individual pictures. And they turned out awesome. I mean how freaking adorable are these pictures?

That's my little munchkin :) I love her so much!!! But, I better get to cleaning the house since my parents are coming to visit this weekend. And later today, Emma gets to go to a Disney show with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson, she is going to love it!

Soaking up the fall weather

Fall is slowly drifting away and making room for that nasty winter. Next week, we are facing some snow on Monday and then a stretch of days with highs only in the 20s. Eek! So not ready for that.

Emma and I have been trying to soak up the nice weather before we are cooped up in the house all winter. We have been spending as much time as we can in the sandbox, with sidewalk chalk, and just being outside in general. It isn't easy when it starts getting dark at 5:00pm now days.

Last weekend, we also finally got the nursery ready for baby #2. We built the crib again, moved the rocker downstairs, and switched dressers-we took Emma's downstairs and put a new one in her room. We still have some baby prep work to do, but we are making good progress.

Speaking of the baby, I am 36 weeks pregnant today. Yay!! I cannot wait to be done with this pregnancy thing, and meet this little boy or girl. I just came home from an OB appointment, and everything is looking good. Four weeks or less and we will have another little person to welcome to our family :)

This week has kind of been a blur. Work is getting really busy because it's the end of the year and a lot of people are getting their surgeries in before the end of the year. So work is crazy. Then our evenings seem short because it's dark by 5:00pm, and Emma takes a lot of time and energy until she's asleep in bed, and then it's time to start all over again. It's really not so bad, it's just going to be a lot easier to handle when I'm not pregnant anymore. I miss my body being my own, being able to sit on the floor and play with Emma, being able to carry Emma, and I miss having energy and sleeping at night. 4 weeks. Or less. Hopefully, a little less.

Yesterday, I was off work by 3, so I picked up Emma and we headed to the park to play. It was nice to enjoy some fresh air and play with Emma.
