Our Nashville Adventure: Day 3

Monday, which was Memorial Day, was our last full day in Nashville, and the day of Erika and Bert's Wedding. We actually had accomplished most of what we wanted to do in Nashville by this point, so we decided to just wing it, and we had a pretty fun day.

We started off the day by eating breakfast at a Waffle House, which is apparently I think down south, and they are supposed to be very good. I thought it was good, but not a whole lot different than like a Perkins in my mind. But it was good.

After breakfast, we headed to the Parthenon which is in Centennial Park. Basically it's the exact replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. It's a pretty random thing, but it was pretty cool to see. It's also a museum inside, and it hosts art shows and things like that. We got to walk around on the inside, and it was pretty cool. I don't think I need to ever see it again, but it was fun to walk through.

After the parthenon, we did a little more souvenir shopping and then we got ready for the wedding. The wedding was in a State Park called Cedars of Lebanon. It was kinda a rainy day, so the wedding was in a building in the State Park and then the reception was also inside.

It was a very short ceremony, like I am talking 10 minutes and the whole thing was over. After a wonderful BBQ supper, we had a good time dancing and visiting with everyone once again.

After helping with some cleaning up, we got out of there at about midnight, and decided to just call it a night since we would be spending the entire next day traveling. It was a beautiful wedding, and we were so happy we could help celebrate the special day with Erika and Bert.

Tuesday was kinda a crappy day, basically everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. We left our hotel at around 7:00 am, filled up with gas, returned the car, and got through security all within an hour or so. We also ate some breakfast at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in the airpot. That all went very smoothly, but then our first plane was delayed about 20 minutes, which made us nervous we would be late for our second plane.

When we finally go to Dallas, and hurried to our next gate, our next flight was delayed 2 hours, due to some weather issues. So, we spent a lot of time in the Dallas airport. We finally made it to Sioux Falls at about 5:30pm, and then I proceeded to leave my new Nashville hoodie on the plane, so I had to wait a good half hour for them to get that back to me. All I wanted to do was be home and see my kiddos.

Finally, finally we made it home. I was SO happy to see the kids. And then, with both our families in our house, I couldn't find anything. Like Elliott was screaming because he was hungry, and I couldn't find a damn bottle, and Emma was screaming because she wanted to play outside. I was stressed to the max. And Emma's blind in her room was randomly broken as well.

Eventually everything calmed down and was better, but it was just a long day of traveling and things going badly. So, the trip to Nashville was awesome, but the traveling home was kinda a bust. But we had a good time getting out of the midwest for a while, and we remembered how fun traveling was, and we can't wait to do it again!!!
