The palace is huge, and very golden and bright to look at. There were so many people out there, it was ridiculous. We were able to bypass a lot of the line because we bought our ticked ahead of time for a certain time, so that was really nice or else we would have stood in line for at least an hour just to get a ticket. But, we got in pretty quickly, and then made our way through the state rooms. The rooms were really amazing to see, but they were super crowded. Like, you couldn't even turn around or stop to look at something without bumping into people. It was pretty miserable because of the crowds. We made it through the state rooms, and then we were happy to be outside in the gardens where there was some space to look around.
The gardens were magnificent. They went on for over a mile, and there was so much to look at. There were many, many fountains and some that were musical, and some where the fountains went along to the music. There was also an outdoor ballroom. It was all over the top and just crazy to think the amount of money that people paid for all these things.
We spent a good 3 hours here looking at everything, and we were pretty tired and hungry by the time we were done. We ate some lunch in Versailles, and then headed back to Paris on the train.
We rode the train all the way back to Notre Dame so we could see the church. Again, we got to see another beautiful church. Notre Dame has a lot of history and it took them 200 years to build, and it is a very beautiful church. It was free to go inside and look around, so we went in and took our time looking at all the stain glass windows and beautiful artwork. It was really cool to see. We ran out of time to go upstairs in the church to look around, so we will have to do that if we ever come back to Paris someday.
After the church, we ate at Fresh Noodle, and John really liked it and wanted to go back for another meal. We never did, but it was very good!
