Summertime.

Summer continues to fly by around here. We are literally busy every night of the week doing something, and before I can even think about it, two more weeks have flown by.

We are wrapping up softball for the summer, which will help decrease the busyness a little bit. We had our end of the year tournament for my Steakout Team on Monday night. We placed 4th, which wasn't too bad considering we moved up to C league this past year. Tomorrow we have our tournament for our Bethel team, and then our end of the season picnic to follow. It should be a fun day of softball tomorrow.

We wrapped up July with a trip to Wild Water West. We went on a Friday evening, when it was only $5 a ticket. We also invited the Hinners to come with us, and we brought Hannah T along. The kids all had an absolute blast at the waterpark. It was a really hot day, so it was a perfect day to be there. It was really busy, but nobody seemed to mind that. We spent a solid 2 hours swimming, and the kids even did the bumper boats, and they thought they were the greatest things ever. After swimming, we got some pizzas and headed to the park with the kids. They all had a great time playing together, and us parents had a nice time visiting.

I took Emma school shopping the other day. That's right, school starts a week from Wednesday. Yikes! I don't know how that came so quickly. Emma actually had her last day of summer care today, which was bittersweet for Emma. She is ready to go back to school and see her friends, but she had a really fun summer with all her summer care friends and she was sad to say goodbye. She did a lot of swimming this summer (she actually learned to officially swim this summer, which was really exciting) and she got to go on a lot of fun field trips.

Anyway, Emma and I picked out all of her new school supplies together, and we have them all organized and ready to go for school registration on Tuesday evening. It's crazy to me that Emma will be starting second grade in a little over a week.

This weekend is the start of a super busy week for us. We have the softball tournament/picnic tomorrow. Then we have the teacher's installation at church tomorrow, along with a brunch and then our Bethel Bike Ride at 1pm. Then, we are heading out to the fairgrounds for a free supper and to get set up for camping. We are camping all week long at the fair, with extended family. We also have school registration and a called-workers picnic thrown in there. And then next weekend we go to Minnesota for Rachel and Carlos' wedding reception. It is a crazy week. It's going to be really fun, but if you don't hear from me for a while, it's because we are going to be very busy these next 10 days.
