I had to work part of 4th of July this year, so we didn't get to spend a long weekend anywhere. We did end up going to Diamond Lake for a regular weekend. Rachel, Elena, Ryan, and Emily also camped that weekend, so we had a good time.
We headed to the lake on Friday after work, and made it to the lake a little after supper time. We unpacked, got settled in, and then enjoyed a nice fire and beverage.
On Saturday, we biked over to Ludwig's cabin. The kids really enjoyed exploring their cabin and filling up on snacks and sweets. We also played some bean bags, ladder golf, and got to use their paddle boat. There was also plenty of time to visit on their porch on the beautiful summer day. At the end of our visit, we got a ride on their Pontoon.
After all the activities, we headed back to the camper. The kids went and did some shore swimming for a couple hours, and then stopped at the store for some ice cream. The adults enjoyed some beverages and visiting. In the evening, we went on some walks, enjoyed another campfire, and watched some fireworks over the lake.
On Sunday, we took the boat out. The kids had a ton of fun tubing, and then we parked the boat for a while and just enjoyed jumping in and swimming in the middle of the lake. We had good family time, great cousin time, and enjoyed a beautiful weekend at the lake.
We had to head back Sunday afternoon because the 4th fell on Tuesday, so I had to work on Monday. So we ate some lunch, and then packed up and headed for home. It was a great, tiring weekend.
