Weekend in Mankato

The second weekend in July, the kids and I headed to Mankato. John stayed home to catch up on things at home.

On Friday after work, the kids and I hit the road for Mankato. We got to town around 5pm, and then headed to La Terraza with Rachel and Elena to eat some good Mexican food for supper. It was amazing.

After supper, we headed to a park/splash park to let the kids play. They ended up staying and playing until after 9:00pm. We had to drag them out of there, but they were having a blast. We headed to Rachel's house and put everyone to bed.

On Saturday, Mankato was celebrating Mankato Days. So, Elena's school had a float in the parade. Elliott, Elena, and Rachel walked in the parade with their float, and Emma and I just watched the parade. We enjoyed watching the parade, and we got a ton of candy to share with the kids. The parade lasted a good hour and a half, and then we headed to the park for food and entertainment.

After all the heat and activity, we headed back to the Splash Park. The kids had fun again running through the sprinklers and being silly with the other kids there. I had plans to go home Saturday evening, but the kids were having some much fun we stayed one more night. We had a movie night at the house, and everyone enjoyed themselves.

On Sunday, Elliott went fishing with Carlos in the morning. They didn't catch anything but they had fun. We left in the late morning, and got home in the afternoon. It was great to be home again, John was really missing his family!!

It was a nice weekend in Minnesota, and it was great to see Emma and Elliott get to spend some time with their cousin.
