Our Weekend.

We had a pretty low-key weekend over here in the Nelson household, but it was nice. I enjoyed having some company during the day, instead of feeling sightly isolated with just Eli and myself.

Friday night was sort of a disaster. Emma was overtired, and she was just a pill the entire evening. She threw fits, and screamed and cried, and there was no reasoning with her. Once we finally got her to bed, we were too exhausted to do anything else but to just head to bed ourselves.

Saturday was a nice day. First of all, it was in the 50s, which is absolutely crazy for the middle of December. Emma was in a much better mood after a good nights rest, and we all spent the morning just hanging out. During Emma's and Eli's afternoon naps, I escaped out of the house and went grocery shopping. It doesn't sound too exciting, but it was so nice to shop without any kids along.

After I got home and unpacked, John and I packed up the kids and headed out on the town on a Saturday two weeks before Christmas (are we crazy or what?). We went to Target to finish a little Christmas shopping and then we headed to the Western Mall to see the Christmas light show that they have there every year. Emma thought it was great! Santa and Mrs. Clause were also there, but Emma wasn't so excited to see them.

Today, was another bum around the house kinda day. This afternoon Jim and Barb came to babysit and John and I were able to go out on a date. It was glorious :)

Right now, Emma is throwing a fit and trying to avoid bed time, so I better go get her sleeping. There's nothing like parenthood some nights :) Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!
