Fair Season 2016

This family loves fair season, and this year was no different. We usually like to try and attend both the Sioux Empire Fair and the Turner County Fair, and we were able to do just that.

We went to the Sioux Empire Fair on a Monday, when it was free gate admission and $1 carnival rides. I brought Emma to the fair at around 4:00pm, and her and I rode carnival rides for a solid 2 hours. Emma loved it, and it was pretty fun to watch her excitement. John and Elliott met up with us at the fair at around 6:00pm, and Elliott even went on some rides. He loved them. He would cry when the ride was over, and he had to get off.

After too many rides, we grabbed some supper and walked the fairgrounds. The Beach Boys were playing that night, and I took Elliott in to watch them a little while, and he was dancing away, loving it. We also hit up the bouncy houses, and played a few carnival games, and Emma won (aka, we paid way too much money for) a stuffed animal. She was so proud of it :)

We left the fairgrounds around 8:30pm with a couple of very tired kids. We pretty much threw them right in bed once they got home.

The following week was the Turner County Fair. John brought Emma out to the fair on Monday, and she participating in a kids rodeo. I wasn't there, but it sounded like it was absolutely adorable, and Emma loved it.

I brought the kids to the fair on my day off, and we had a blast. We spent the morning hours walking the grounds, seeing and petting the animals, and of course playing in the corn and rocks. After some lunch with Grandma Barb, Emma and I went to do wristband rides, and Grandma took Elliott to her house to rest and have naps.

The afternoon was super hot. Emma had so much fun doing rides, but we were so sweaty by the end. She went on every single ride she could possibly go on, and we sweated it out and did rides for 4 very long hours. Emma had so much fun. After we couldn't take the heat any longer, we went to Grandma and Grandpas house to cool off and rest a little. Then it was back to the fair for supper, and some more exploring.

We left the fair after 7 hours of being out there. The kids were dirty, and exhausted, but they had such a good time. We all love the fair, and we can't wait until next year!

Abby and Emma got to having a swimming pool date in Tea. They loved it!
